21 februari 2014 | The IS Academie Education and International Development at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), in cooperation with the Social Development Department – Education and Research Division (DSO/OO) (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), organises a research dissemination session on Education’s Role in (Post-) Conflict Contexts, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Hague, Tuesday 18 March 2014.
During this event, new ideas and the latest insight from field studies on education in relation to conflict and peacebuilding will be presented by recently graduated master students in International Development Studies (IDS) of the UvA. Their poster presentations will give opportunity for dynamic and engaged discussions in smaller groups. In addition, we would like to offer space to all guests from Dutch civil society to connect and look for potential cooperation with former and new students of the master IDS who are designing their upcoming research and fieldwork projects.
Key speaker Prof. Mario Novelli, lecturer in International Education and Development (University of Sussex) and affiliated member of the IS Academie EID, will present on “Attacks on Education: Modalities, Motivations and Mechanisms of Protection”.
You are very welcome to join this event. There are limited seats available, so please register at the latest Thursday March 13th with Mariëlle Le Mat, research assistant of the IS Academie EID, M.L.J.lemat@uva.nl. Please mention if you take lunch.
