Education should be a concern for all actors in development. The UNESCO Global Monitoring Report 2013/2014 ‘Teaching and Learning, Achieving Quality for All’ that was launched wordwide at 29 January, stresses that education is pivotal for development in a rapidly changing world.

Next to monitoring progress on the Education for All goals and the quality of teaching and learning, this year’s GMR focusses on the transformative power of education. It demonstrates education’s tremendous capacity to accelarate progress towards other development goals.

Given the worldwide decline in interest and resources for education, how can partners in various development areas help secure this vital building block for results in their own work?

At the occasion of the Netherlands launch of the 2013/2014 UNESCO GMR, the Global Campaign for Education Netherlands invites you to a discussion on this urgent question. We will be focussing on the areas of gender and health, economic development, and agriculture and food security.
